The renovation enhances the rear room's ambiance by repairing a boarded window, removing an old soffit ceiling, and optimizing lighting with new uplighting and soft pendants. This creates a warm, intimate atmosphere with balanced lighting for better photography. The café prioritizes sustainability, using entirely reclaimed or recycled materials, such as tables made from the original roof rafters of the Robert Burns academy, upcycled concrete kitchen fronts from a Tramways theatre dancefloor, and bathroom tiling cut from recycled graffiti hoarding boards from the Clyde-side Barkley's development. All the materials underwent prototyping, testing, and treatment for optimal integration into the space
