An exciting opportunity arose to rejuvenate a deteriorating tin beach house on the Isle of Harris. Situated at the base of a beach in a protected peninsula, the project aimed to preserve the charm and simplicity of the existing property while enhancing its insulation and fortifying it against the harsh sea winds. Cherished features like the molded plaster fireplace, chimney, and rusting tin shell were retained to honor the property's heritage. Key improvements included the addition of a new mezzanine balcony and upstairs snug, updated floors, and a modern kitchen. To enhance comfort, double-glazed windows were installed, and a new porch was added for draft-proofing and organizing spaces for wet and dry clothes
